Propionibacterium acnes Sk 137
Propionibacterium acnes is a gram-positive, anaerobic bacterium that inhabits the human skin. The bacterium is normally harmless but when the bacterium comes into contact with a hair follicle, it causes the body to produce an inflammatory response resulting in acne vulgaris. [Source: 1]
